I have finally decided what I want to do when I grow up!

I have always had two things I was interested in, becoming a lawyer and becoming a teacher. I also knew I wanted to be home with my kids until they went to school and after, have a career that I could still be there for them. So teaching is what I have been working towards for the last 4 years or so. I am getting so close to getting my associates in Early Childhood Education now! Personal experience, classes I have taken, and people I have met have lead me to the path I want to pursue. I want to get my teaching degree in special education! I feel so strongly that these children need someone on their side ensuring they get every opportunity to learn and grow to their capacity! I have thought about this for some time and today at church it just hit me, this is what I need to do.

My heart breaks every time I hear of a child that is not given a chance by a teacher. Cody has wonderful preschool teachers! Church was by big concern for him. The only thing I asked of his primary teachers was if he raised his hand to answer a question, let him make his funny sounds to answer and respond positively and he has a wonderful teacher who does just that! Because of her he has such a great experience. He still doens't like me leaving him, but he knows that she will not toss him to the side because he has such a limited vocaublary.

So anyway this is my new passion and hopefully it will pan out the way I want it to. I would love to work towards being a developmental preschool teacher just becuase I admire Cody's so much. They put in many more hours than required, but they love thier kids and it shows! I look up to them and hope I can be just as good as they are!
