I am a mean mom!

Both boys had homework over Spring Break. I kind of think that's mean, but Tyler's was to read a book and write a book report so that's not so bad. Ryan was a math packet. In defense of his teacher my guess is his math packet is leftover from class. Several times this week I asked him to work on it and he would. Today I sat down to help him finish only to find out that out of about 15 pages he had done 3! And two of the three were 100% incorrect and full of doodling! So I had to become the mean mom and make him sit at the table to get it done. I used the incentive of the fact we planned to go to the Gartenschau today to putt putt golf and get ice cream. That motivated him a bit,but he was still moving very slowly. Cody asked to play playdough since he picked out new colors yesterday! I decided that might make Ryan move faster! So as he sits at the table doing homework Cody and Tyler are having fun playing playdough. It is definately making Ryan think twice about not doing his math sooner and he did confess that it was supposed to be done in class and he just didn't do it. What am I going to do with this kid?
