J Model Arrives at Ramstein AB!

Tuesday we ventured out with our friends the Terry's to see the arrival of the first J Model C-130 that will be assigned to Ramstein AB. It was a beautiful day! We parked a distance out and walked which initially I must say I was not happy about, but it was nice exercise and let the kids run and be wild. These pictures are not ones we took. Zach found them on the internet, but they are really cool! I circled us on the one pictures. Zach, Tyler, Bryce, Ryan, me and Maddy are up closer to the 130. Our friends Billie, Melinda, Haylee, Valery, and Megan are the second circle closer to the hangar. You can spot them by the double stroller! That is actually where I was most of the ceremony, but Maddy had taken off to where Zach was and I didn't know if he would see her to catch her. Most of you know how he gets when it comes to planes! The rest of the world doesn't matter. He was very much a kid in a candy store and waited a long time to take the boys up to the cockpit. Melinda and I decided the old E model 130 looked empty and was more our speed! So we ventured over to it and spent time up in the cockpit of it.

It was a neat ceremony, I just wish they had less talking! That is the military for you! The kids each got a poster of the J model flying with Burg Eltz in the background and even met a 4 star general who signed them. General Brady, commander of USAFE (I think that is right) flew the plane into Ramstein. It was a fun day!
