Lorraine American Cemetery

This weekend we finally ventured out to the Lorraine American Cemetery in St. Avold, France. It's not a long drive, I think 45 minutes. The weather was a little wet, but we were only sprinkled on while at the cemetery. This cemetery is the largest in Europe with 10,489 burried in marked graves across 113 1/2 acres of land. Among the burried are brothers that lay side by side. Zach and Tyler found where 5 brothers were in a row. There is a Wall of Missing that lists 444 men that did not have remains recovered to bury. We had a few names we were looking for. We are not sure if they are of any relation, but we took pictures so the information is available for family history. It was a very nice day and I hope later on that they boys appreciate later the opportunity they had to be here.
