City, Mozart's birthplace and bridge.

After enjoying our nice ice cream break and rested from the hike to the fortress, we set off to find Mozart's birthplace. As we wandered we came across the market area. There is nothing more fun than wandering through an open air market! The flowers, the food, the people, I love it all! We also came across the music festival area. Now somewhere is the concert hall used in the movie the sound of music. However there was a concert just finishing so we ended up being swarmed by crowds of people all dressed up and even a row of very nice cars parked right out front. Must be the VIP area! Many of the women were wearing the traditional dresses, but the men were not in lederhosen (not sure how to spell that) they were in suits. However as we wandered more we did see boys and even men in lederhosen with the women and girls dressed in traditional dresses. We found Mozart's birthplace and it was crowded so we didn't attempt to get too close. We made our way to the bridge to get some good views of the city and to get out of the crowds of people. Who knew a concert would be letting out on top of all the tourists and residents shopping! At this point we decided to go back to the van as we had wandered quite far from it. The kids were tired and needed more to eat and drink. We had drank all of the water packed in the backpack, but had plenty more in the van!
